Simon Shiran, Principal
"The Girls School aspires to a help students reach a
deep level of Ahavat Torah and Ahavat Yisrael, in
conjunction with the development of their minds, their
personal creativity and their ethical conduct."
From 3rd to 8th grade, girls study Navi, Mishnah,
Halacha and Jewish Thought and review the Chumash they
learned in earlier grades, this time with more classical
commentary. They also study science, history,
literature, language and mathematics and are encouraged
to be creative in the arts and music. Lots of chesed
activities, a school choir, special assemblies, plays
and hikes round out the picture.
Chativa Bogeret
The 7th and 8th grades form a separate unit within the
Girls School, called the "Chativa Bogeret". Their
special programming includes elective classes in first
aid, film studies, Jewish ethics, translating Midrash
into art and dance, as well as advanced Tanach, Mishnah
and Gemara. 7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to
take active leadership roles in the school, creating and
leading activities for students in the younger grades.
The last year in Orot Etzion also includes preparation
for high school and the production of a graduation play.
