"A child is like a seedling, each one needs to be nurtured intensively so that they can flower & reach there maximum potential."
The Mechina, Orot Etzion's pre-school, combines the
best elements of kindergarten and cheder. Every Mechina
class has both a licensed early-childhood educator and
a Rav. The Rav teaches the children to read – at first,
one-on-one, then gradually moving to classroom-style
instruction as they become more proficient – and
studies basic Jewish concepts with the group. The
kindergarten teacher introduces basic writing and math
skills in addition to art, sports and music. The
Mechina student's day is designed to be rich in content
and fun. Topics are introduced in small, easily
absorbed units that are always combined with
experiential activities, stories and play.
The Mechina's rapid growth is a testament to the
successful and stimulating programming it offers.
Recently, a branch of the Orot Etzion mechina was
opened in Neve Daniel and another branch in Alon Shvut.
